BRUNO (year 2008)

Bruno, lamps and vases made with recycled crochet yarns.

We all have an old woolen item at the bottom of our drawer, perhaps an old sweater linked to a particular memory and which is difficult to part with, even though it seems irrational to us that it continues to take up space in our overflowing wardrobe.

This is just one, the most emotional, of the reasons that led me to give new life, in my imagination, to a garment to be thrown away.... it is the instinct that leads me to reuse every type of waste, as in the past the Lombard farmers reused every part of nature's products "without ever throwing anything away": I have in my unconscious historical memory the poverty of my ancestors and of the sterile moors of the upper Milan area.

Furthermore, crochet, which I returned to after learning it in childhood, is for me a sort of "design therapy": an extremely relaxing activity, linked to the realization of a project that allows you to live the most productive and creative different situations in life, perhaps a little boring in themselves, but inevitable like waiting, then the ultimate is knitting while listening to podcast readings of my favorite novels!
